Burst Pipes

A burst pipe can cause severe damage to any home, from the foundations to the electrical wiring. It is imperative to take action as soon as a burst pipe is discovered.

What to do in case of burst pipes:

1. Call our 24 hour emergency hotline on 020 7386 8888 
2. If you are able to, you should turn off the main stop tap where the water comes in to your property. It could be under the kitchen sink.
3. If you have a cold water tank turn off the stopcock.
4. Next you can drain the system by switching on the taps and flushing the toilets.
5. Turn on the hot taps to drain the system.
6. Switch off the electrics in case of water leaks in order to avoid electrocution.

Of course we do not require you to do any of this, but it is best practise and helps make our job a little easier.
