Anderson & Sons in the Community

C Anderson and Sons sent their plumbing and heating engineers to Tajikistan this July of 2012, in south east Asia where we worked alongside Habitat for Humanity.

The original plan was for the plumbing expedition to take place in the summer of 2010 with Global Challenge in Uganda however this is now happening at a later date.

Habitat for HumanitySo Tajikistan is South East Asia’s poorest country and only half the population have access to clean drinking water. The plan was to give more people access to clean drinking water, the most fundamental of human requirements.

We have now raised over £15,000 for the project! The events have been varied and very entertaining, starting with a "slave auction", then competed in the London triathlon, we were fortunate enough to benefit from an orchestral concert, other successful events have included charity football & cricket matches.

We even hosted a day of clay pigeon shooting event which was very successful and enjoyable for everyone. There have been no boundaries in our efforts in fundraising!

For our project in Uganda the plumbers fearlessly stepped into the boxing ring for a fight night at Miguel's boxing gym in Brixton, where we raised over £6000 in that night alone.

Massive thanks to everyone who has helped support our fundraising efforts so far.

The mission was a complete success and you can read our write up here >
