Growing Greener Neighbourhoods: Our Partnership with Trees for Cities

Crawford Anderson • February 11, 2026

At C. Anderson & Sons, we’ve always believed that being a family-run business means looking after more than just the plumbing and heating of the homes we serve. For over 50 years, our family has been committed to supporting the people and communities that make London such a special place to live.

Our partnership with Trees for Cities is one of the ways we’re putting that commitment into action.

Trees for Cities is the UK’s only charity dedicated to planting trees at a national and international scale, transforming urban spaces and improving air quality, biodiversity and wellbeing in neighbourhoods across the country. Their work brings local communities together to rejuvenate forgotten spaces and create greener, healthier environments, especially in areas facing social or environmental challenges.

🌳 275 New Trees Planted — Thanks to You

We are delighted to share an important milestone: 275 trees have already been planted in the first 6 months of our partnership.

This is only possible thanks to the continued trust of our customers. Every installation of a hydrogen-prepared boiler carried out by our own fully trained, in-house engineers helps support new urban planting projects across the UK.

These trees are already making an impact by:

  • Improving air quality
  • Cooling and protecting urban spaces
  • Boosting biodiversity
  • Creating more vibrant, resilient local environments

Together, we are helping to grow green spaces that will benefit communities for generations.

Our Broader Commitment to Community — Proud Members of Age UK

Our environmental partnership sits alongside another important part of who we are:
C. Anderson & Sons is a verified member of the Age UK Business Directory.

This recognition reflects our longstanding commitment to providing trusted, fair and honest service, especially to older residents in our community. Age UK’s vetting process ensures that businesses meet high standards for reliability, transparency and customer care — values we’ve upheld since day one as a family-run company.

From offering honest advice with no call-out fees to delivering work backed by a 12-month guarantee, our membership reinforces the confidence customers can place in our team.

Combined with our support for Trees for Cities, it reflects a broader belief:

Good businesses strengthen the communities they serve — socially, environmentally and practically.

Why This Partnership Matters to Us

Our collaboration with Trees for Cities aligns closely with our ethos:

  • Supporting urban greening in areas that need it most
  • Encouraging healthier, cleaner streets for London families
  • Backing community-led environmental projects
  • Leaving a positive legacy in the neighbourhoods we’ve served for over 50 years

For us, environmental responsibility and community responsibility go hand-in-hand. Whether we’re installing a boiler, responding to a 24/7 emergency call-out, or planting the seeds of a greener future, the goal remains the same: to support the people of London with integrity and care.

Looking Ahead

We are only halfway through our 1st year of our planting commitment, and we’re excited to share more milestones as our partnership continues. With your support, we will bring many more trees — and far-reaching environmental benefits — to London and beyond.
