Tajikistan - Habitat for Humanity

C. Anderson & Sons sent their plumbing and heating engineers to Tajikistan in July 2012 to work alongside Habitat for Humanity.

The original plan was for the plumbing expedition to take place in the summer of 2010 with Global Challenge in Uganda, however this is now happening at a later date.

Tajikistan is Central Asia's poorest country and only half the population have access to clean drinking water. The mission was to give more people access, as it's the most fundamental of human requirements.
We raised over £15,000 for the project, and our sponsorship events included:
  • A "slave auction"
  • A London triathlon
  • An orchestral concert
  • Charity footabll & cricket matches
  • Clay pigeon shooting
The project was a massive success, and Crawford led a team of Anderson plumbers featuring Jonathon Shaub, Tim Moncur, Tariq Nabil & Judd Pearson. In just under two weeks the team installed over 20 water filters in many schools out there.

We'd like to thank everyone for supporting us on this project and look forward to working with Habitat for Humanity again, as although the mission was successful there is still so much more that could be done.
